Cocker spaniel Diesel is a hearing dog for his teenage owner, Rayane, who is deaf. This means Rayane doesn’t hear everything. Diesel’s superears are trained to alert Rayane to important sounds he might miss. Diesel is Rayane’s ears! Diesel has to ignore lots of noises on the way to the pet shop. He uses his superhearing to zoom in on the important sounds like the pet shop door bell. Diesel helps Rayane find the pet food aisle, where he chooses his pet food and a new toy, while being careful to choose one without a squeaker. Squeakers are for training time, not playtime. But then there’s an emergency at the cafe when the smoke alarm goes off, and the cafe has to be evacuated. Diesel must use all his training – and his superears - to help guide Rayane and Mum to safety.

The Twirlywoos watch a carpenter who is working in her garden. They see her pulling out a tape measure to measure a piece of wood, which they find very interesting. While she goes to fetch her toolbox, the Twirlywoos take the end of the tape measure and pull it out all the way across the garden, where they hide in a bush just as the carpenter returns. A tug of war ensues between the Twirlywoos and the carpenter. Suddenly the Hooter summons the Twirlywoos home, just as the carpenter gives a really big pull, and she falls back in surprise! Back in the boat, Peekaboo is trying to pull a long vine out of the hole in the wall when the Twirlywoos return. As Peekaboo rushes back into the hole, the vine is left outside. A tug of war ensues between the Twirlywoos and the carpenter. Suddenly the Hooter summons the Twirlywoos home, just as the carpenter gives a really big pull, and she falls back in surprise! The Tato Team must make an epic journey back to the veggie aisle to stop Evil Pea from taking over. When they finally make it back, they dress an egg up as Supertato and put it in the car. Now, it is Captain Chilli’s turn to use the remote and distract Evil Pea so that Supertato can save the fruit and veggies.

It's a lovely day, so everyone is playing outside. Things take a turn when Roly needs a wee, because the door is locked and Duggee has mislaid the key. Coco and Charlie are playing at Bing's house when Coco spots the measuring lines on the wall that show how Bing has grown. Flop measures Bing, and he's bigger than the last time. When Bing can't reach his paper aeroplane, Coco offers to measure him again to check if he's really grown, but they don't quite get the measuring ritual right and the new mark is much lower than before. Bing gets scared that he's growing down and that if he keeps going he'll be as small as Charlie.

The Squirrels learn that there are certain dos and don’ts that you must follow in order to avoid mess or getting hurt, but that you can still have fun along the way. Knowing why they should listen to these rules helps them understand their importance - if you spill your drink, someone could slip, and leftover crumbs can attract unwelcome guests. The Squirrels take turns suggesting their dos and don’ts, but some are a bit more niche than others. But most importantly, they remember that you do have fun with your friends.

Hatty's display features a fossilised footprint of an allosaurus that she found on her travels, but when the delivery of salt she needed to finish the display fails to turn up (in fact it turns out to be pepper), Andy vows to fix the problem. His mission is to travel back to the prehistoric salt flats and collect enough salt to finish the display. Along the way he befriends an allosaurus, but two others turn up which are less friendly and the adventure culminates in a breathtaking chase along the salt flats as the allosauruses dodge the giant legs and long necks of a herd of diplodocuses.

Once they’ve picked a recipe, Duggee teaches them how to complete it: get the ingredients, prepare them and then put it together. After making some fun mess in the kitchen and a great cooking lesson, the Squirrels get to complete the last step together and eat what they made. Delicious.

Coco and Charlie are playing at Bing's house when Coco spots the measuring lines on the wall that show how Bing has grown. Flop measures Bing, and he's bigger than the last time. When Bing can't reach his paper aeroplane, Coco offers to measure him again to check if he's really grown, but they don't quite get the measuring ritual right and the new mark is much lower than before. Bing gets scared that he's growing down and that if he keeps going he'll be as small as Charlie.
