From the teams searching for the Bavarian pine vole that hasn't been seen in the wild for 60 years, to the rangers trying to protect Slovenia’s endangered eagle-owls, wildlife film-maker Libby Penman showcases a wide range of success stories from across Europe. They celebrate the amazing work of conservationists fighting to save our precious plants and animals. Exploring some of the projects taking place across the continent, Libby reveals how puffins on Northern Ireland’s only inhabited island are being protected from furry intruders, why racoon dogs are moving south into Sweden, and how a highland landscape is being completely transformed within the biggest National Nature Reserve in the UK. Ultimately, she discovers that despite their different objectives, these projects all have one thing in common. At their heart are passionate people making an extraordinary effort to help bring our endangered wildlife back from the brink.

In the aftermath of the 2017 general election, insiders reveal Alex Salmond's anger at having lost his Westminster seat, and how he blamed his defeat on the campaign strategy of Sturgeon’s SNP. Alex details how he moved on from politics to entertaining audiences at a Fringe show, before controversially fronting his own television series on the Russia Today channel. Nicola Sturgeon talks of her anger at learning that Salmond would be appearing on the Kremlin-backed broadcaster. Relations between the pair then reach crisis point when a newspaper leak reveals that the Scottish government is investigating complaints of sexual misconduct against Alex Salmond that had been made by two women concerning incidents that occurred when he was first minister. In an astonishing turn of events, Salmond strongly proclaims his innocence and takes the Scottish government to court, alleging that the complaints process had been mishandled. Politicians such as John Swinney and Roseanna Cunningham recount how the SNP was affected by the scandal and of the emotional fallout of the case.

After an emotional funeral for his dad, Colin and Cathy have the neighbours round but understandably Colin is not his usual upbeat self. Christine was not impressed with the service or the priest and, as usual, is not backward about coming forward with her opinions on the whole affair. And as Beth, Eric and Ian try to make their excuses to leave early, Cathy manages to foil their escape by inviting more of the neighbours in. As the drink flows with Cathy's encouragement, Colin reminisces about the late departed Willie and encourages his neighbours to do the same. But as the guests look on - brandy glasses in hand - Cathy tries to turn the solemn occasion into a party, complete with wildly inappropriate music and games.

It’s every gardener’s dream - weed-free growing! In this episode, George Anderson and Calum Clunie help cut down on those unwanted plant pests. The pair select varieties that provide great ground cover as they grow, and that ground cover will help limit the spread of weeds in future seasons. Calum takes on the next stage of developing his hot be. A few weeks ago, he built the frame and filled it with organic matter that will be a natural source of heat, and this week he plants winter veg that will keep growing as the autumn temperatures drop. Calum also provides the last update of the season from his cut flower bed to find out what new blooms have appeared now that we are more than halfway through September. Documentary telling the definitive story of how Aberdeen FC defied expectations and ruled European football. Spanning an incredible five years in the club’s history between 1978 and 1983, this special group of players, managed by Sir Alex Ferguson, went from the nearly men of Scottish football to winning both the European Cup Winners Cup and European Super Cup, making them the number one team in Europe for that year. With a stellar cast of contributors including Sir Alex Ferguson, Willie Miller, Alex McLeish, Gordon Strachan, Mark McGhee and many more, this film explores how Aberdeen destroyed the long-held domestic dominance of Rangers and Celtic, beating both Bayern Munich and Real Madrid on the way to their ‘Glory in Gothenburg’ in 1983.
