The acting head of large mammals, April, has a problem – the team have admitted a tiny badger cub, but she is completely alone. April sets about handrearing the little orphan, which she names Miss Honey, but badgers are social animals and the cub needs a friend. It’s a few weeks before Miss Honey is joined by two other orphans – the similarly Roald Dahl-themed Bruce and Matilda. The trio happily adapt to the centre’s custom-made artificial sett before they are returned to the wild. Meanwhile, centre vet and keen birder Liam has a real challenge on his hand - an injured common sandpiper has been brought in after being being caught by a cat. With an eye injury, it’s a real case of touch-and-go as to whether the little sandpiper will survive. However, aided by the exceptional skills of Liam, the wader recovers and the vet is able to return it to the wild with the help of his family.

You could say that Lynn Cameron’s garden is a load of rubbish. Lynn has transformed the shared waste pile behind her house into a sustainable garden made entirely from recycled items and seeds from seed share programmes. Lynn has created a folly built entirely from discarded stones and bricks, a pond from old tyres, and a large seat from old decking boards. She even rescued an old stained-glass window to incorporate into her folly. Most of her garden has been sourced at little to no cost, yet she has managed to develop a haven full of exotic plants and eye-catching garden features.

On the way Paul hears tales of loggers who floated timber down the river from the 17th century onwards. He then takes to the water in a canoe and discovers the rare and endangered freshwater mussels that were once harvested for their precious pearls, which adorn royal crowns. Sampling a dram of the original water of life, Paul reaches the mouth of the Spey where shipyards launched vessels to sail the seven seas. Finally, Paul meets the last salmon net fisherman on the river and learns how nets were used to catch the fish, which were then packed in ice and sent by rail to London.

Kirsten and Amy have brought the academy competitors on an influencer trip to Tenerife, and the creators are in the middle of their third challenge to create content about the trip, which must include a reference to the trip’s sponsor, Stylink. Stylink representative Jack is on the trip, so he gets to witness first hand how the competitors get on. In the middle of their day at the beach club, Amy is chatting to Nasti about how he is getting on, but she has discovered that he hasn’t done any research into the brand and doesn’t know what they do. Amy offers him some advice and reminds him that it is Jack who will be judging this challenge. However, Nasti seems surprisingly resistant to her feedback. The challenge continues at a restaurant, where the competitors continue to film footage for their video. While they are at dinner, they also have the opportunity to ask Jack about the best way to impress him.
