Frightened, Isabel flees with their daughter by sea to America. Off the coast of Florida, she meets Sam (Vincent D'Onofrio), a kind fisherman who sees them safely to Miami's Little Havana. Eight years later, Isabel is happy in the arms of Sam -- until a recently freed Nestor reaches Miami in hope of a romantic reunion.
